From Storm Team 5 Meteorologist Dave Miller...
We started out with clouds during the morning hours on Wednesday although the clouds gave way to sunny skies during the afternoon across the southern half of the viewing area. Those clouds hung in there much longer from Appleton on north into the afternoon but eventually eroded allowing some sun across the northern half of the viewing area late in the day. Highs warm to around 80 back in the southwest around Wautoma and Waupaca with the added sunshine while 60s and 70s was the best we could do in the northern sections.
Another area of low pressure slowly moves out of the plains states and a warm front will emerge out of Iowa and Illinois during the next couple of days. This will be the breeding ground for more showers and thunderstorms for the next couple of days and into the weekend. They will be limited and scattered but will also be likely in the afternoon and evening with the daytime heating. We could start out each day with some clouds and a bit of sun during the morning. Highs will continue to warm into the low to mid 80s. Humid conditions will continue for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Saturday with more showers and storms later in the day on Sunday.
The potential for at least some scattered storms could extend all the way into the middle part of next week.
