Green Bay (WFRV) Aurora BayCare Open Streets Green Bay is a family event that closes designated streets to traffic and opens them up for biking and pedestrians.

The Saturday Farmers Market in downtown Green Bay has always been a great place to get local produce. Now the two are coming together to offer twice the fun.

There will be 18 to 20 fitness activities during Open Streets including Yoga. Yoga is a great way to get in shape.

"Yoga is absolutely good for you physically and mentally. There are so many benefits to it, starting with the most obvious flexibility," said Regan Kust, Health and Wellness Specialist, Aurora BayCare Medical Center.

And it helps strengthen core muscles, joints, bones and more, "I also strengthens and tones all the muscles of the body. The stronger your muscles are, combined with flexibility the healthier you are," explained Kust.

If you've never tried yoga now you can for free at Aroura BayCare Open Streets Green Bay event.

"We ask everyone to come and join, bring the kids all ages are welcome to join. And that's another wonderful thing about yoga you can do yoga from age three all the way up to your nineties," said Kust.

Other activities include zumba, games, self defense. obstacle course and more.

The streets will be closed to traffic from Fisk park-- down Dousman Street-- across the Main Street Bridge to Whitney park. And this year-- they are joining with the kick off celebration of the Saturday Farmers Market.

This year the Farmers Market is moving from a parking lot to South Washington Street.

"One of the awesome things about this new site is it's going to be biker friendly. You're going to be able to ride the Fox River Trail right into the market site," said Molly Vandervest, Downtown Green Bay Inc.

More than 100 vendors will offer fresh produce, meats, cheeses and more.

"About fifteen percent is prepared food so if you need to come down and get your egg roll, if you don't want something healthy, we have some of those. And we have a mix of some local arts and crafts vendors as well," said Vandervest.

It will be a great day to get in shape, try something fun, and stock your fridge with healthy foods.

"It's all about family so we ask that you bring the babies all the way up to grandparents. There's a lot of activities for everyone to come out and try," said Vandervest.
