Cheese-Spider Sliders

Hollywood culinary consultant Susan Spungen teams up with the creators of Sony Pictures Animation's "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2" to design the perfect family friendly Big Game Buffet.

Cheese-Spider Sliders

Ingredients (serves 8)

Frozen thin cut French Fries
(such as Ore Ida Extra Crispy Fast Food Fries)

1 1/4 pounds of ground beef

4 slices American or cheddar cheese

8 slider buns

Shredded lettuce

Ketchup

Cornichons or gherkins pickles cut into 1/8-inch thick slices

Directions

1. Cook the fries according to the package instructions, and keep warm.

2. Divide the meat into 8 mini burgers. 2 1/2 ounces each. Season with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet until medium (or as desired). Cut the cheese to fit the burgers, using scraps from the larger pieces too. Cover briefly to melt.

3. Slice buns in half if they are not pre-sliced, and top with lettuce. Place burger on lettuce, add ketchup and some pickle slices, and top with other half of bun. Place a pickle slice on the end of a toothpick and skewer the burger. Repeat for the other "eye". Repeat for remaining burgers.

4.Place 4 fries in a little pile on a serving platter, and place the burger on top. Repeat with remaining burgers, and serve immediately.
