Animal Well Being

In light of the recent animal abuse video that was released here in Northeastern Wisconsin more people want to know what focus is being placed on the well being of animals on our livestock operations. Amy Stanton the UW Extension Animal Well Being Specialists explains the attention given to this by producers and the research the University is doing to increase cow care and comfort.
In reaction to the animal abuse video from Brown County people have been asking what is being done in the area of animal care on our state's livestock operations. Amy Stanton is the UW Extension Animal Well Being Specialist and she is making it clear that Wisconsin livestock producers are leaders in the industry in caring for their animals. She said that cow comfort and the welfare of animals is a high pririty on the vast majority of state operation and that the University is working on research projects geared an increasing the level of cow comfort on state farms.
