Cascade Hunter Shot In Leg On Opening Weekend

A 52-year-old Cascade man was accidently shot in the leg while hunting in Sheboygan County on Sunday morning.
LYNDON, Wis. (WFRV) - A 52-year-old Cascade man was accidently shot in the leg while hunting in Sheboygan County on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in the Town of Lyndon, while the man was hunting in a deer stand.  His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting took place on a slower-than-usual opening weekend, according to the DNR.  Chilly weather and brisk winds kept some hunters indoors, but the early numbers are encouraging, given the weather.  The Manitowac 310 Mobile station registered just over 300 deer during the weekend.
