Richard Tepp and his wife love to ride.
"We get out maybe a couple times a week," Richard said.
While they tend to stick to the Fox River Trail for their trips, Richard still follows some important rules of the road.
"Passing bikes are very important to stay single file," he explained. "Stay in your lane and don't speed."
For cyclists out when it's dark, experts have some tips to make sure they're seen from all sides.
"All bikes are required to have rear reflectors and front reflectors," explained Rebecca Cleveland, owner of The Bike Hub in De Pere."In Wisconsin, if you are riding a night, you are required to have a front headlight on your bike."
Cleveland is also an avid cyclist.
"You have a right to be on the road but you also have a responsibility," she explained. "You're out there with other vehicles."
When it comes to clothing, she said the brighter, the better.
"It's visible from so far away and that's what you need," she said. "You need to give the drivers time to see you."
Richard Tepp doesn't ride much at night, but he's still prepared.
"I have it in my bag and if we do bike at night then we use the lights," he added. "That's important, too."
