Boat Transfer Station Proposed for Fox River

Boat Transfer Station Proposed for Fox River

The boat transfer system would lift boats up to 55 feet long, decontaminate them of invasive species, and allow them to move further upstream.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - A new project is in the works that would allow boaters to travel from the Bay of Green Bay to Lake Winnebago.

It involves a proposed boat transfer system at the Rapide Croche Dam and Lock, just south of Wrightstown.

That lock is currently closed to prevent invasive species from moving upstream.

The boat transfer system would lift boats up to 55 feet long, decontaminate them of invasive species, and allow them to move further upstream.

The DNR has completed an environmental impact analysis of the proposal. You can find it here.
