Dangerous property damage complaints under investigation in the Fox Valley

Calumet County Sheriff's officials say mailboxes were damaged with homemade explosives
TOWN OF HARRISON, Wis. (WFRV) - Local law enforcement are investigating a recent rash of potentially dangerous property damage complaints in the Fox Valley.

On February 7th and 8th, the Calumet County Sheriff's Department said a handful of mailboxes were damaged near the Town of Harrison.

Officials said some of the mailboxes appeared to be smashed with a bat, but what makes these cases unique, others were destroyed using a homemade explosive device or set on fire.

"Our concern is not so much the damage to the mail box," explained Lt. Mark Wiegert. "Our concern is that we find out who's doing this to stop them before someone gets hurt."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Calumet County Crimestoppers at 1-877-765-8327, or by texting a tip using the keyword, "calumet".

A $300 reward is being offered in the case.
