The design is approved by the American Disabilities Act.
The landing is equipped with railings and rollers to provide paddlers easy access in and out of the river.
According to project leaders the grant will be used to complete the accessible landing at Shattuck Park in Neenah, and to build half of the landing at Heesakker Park in Little Chute.
The Parkway is seeking funding for another 13.5 landing packages to complete its goal of improving access along the Fox-Wisconsin water route.
"These landings not only help those with physical disabilities access this great river and find a level of freedom not easily available on land, but they also give everyone a stable platform to get into their kayak and launch, " says Candice Mortara, board president of the Parkway. "The landings are an important part of making the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Water Trail a destination worth the travel time."
The Shattuck Park landing will be installed in the spring. The Heesakker Park landing is dependent on acquiring additional funding for the other half of the landing.
