OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Oshkosh Corporation held another job fair to help several hundred employees who are about to be laid off find new work.
The fair comes after Oshkosh Defense's announcement back in April that more than 700 production jobs were to be terminated, starting at the end of this month.
Some 40 companies with a total of 1,700 openings were in attendance at the Oshkosh Convention Center looking to fill positions.
"People here today are looking for good employees that are willing to come and work.. But right now we are looking at oshkosh truck...this is our job right now to make sure we find jobs for these folks." Rod Vander Hyden of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development says.
The company says it has to cut staffing at Oshkosh defense because of defense cuts.
