Rehabilitation facility promotes Brain Injury Awareness Month

According to N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation, a brain injury occurs in the United States every 23 seconds.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - According to N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation, a brain injury occurs in the United States every 23 seconds.

Now, the organization is raising awareness this month in Green Bay.

According to the organization, brain injuries may be the result of car, bicycle or sporting accidents, falls, gunshot wounds, or surgery.

While other acquired brain injuries may be from an internal cause such as an aneurysm, stroke or anything that restricts oxygen to the brain.

Regardless of how a brain injury occurs, the effect on the individual, the family and friends can be dramatic.
