Speeding up emergency response

Green Bay's new fire chief is calling for a change of protocol to speed up response.

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay's new fire chief is calling for a change of protocol to speed up response.

Currently, Brown County 911 dispatchers are required to ask a number of questions before sending an ambulance. Now, Chief David Litton says emergency responders should simply get rolling and ask questions later. Brown County's public safety communications director agrees.

The Brown County Dispatch Center typically receives up to 70,000 emergency calls a year, including both police and fire.
