GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Six weeks after suffering a bruised spinal cord, Packers Tight End Jermichael Finley spoke exclusively with Local 5 Tuesday. He stopped by the studio for a taping of Green Bay Nation.

In his first interview since the injury, Finley said he's feeling great.

"The timeline is on point for me to be healthy," Finley explained. "If I decide that I want to come back to football but everything is going well. Getting checked up and it's an experience, I'll tell you. Not a good one, but it's a life experience."

Finley underwent successful spinal fusion surgery last month. While his football season is over, he's still undecided about his football career.

"I'm just going off my energy," he said. "I'm just letting my body talk to me and not getting ahead of myself."

Finley said he's been in constant contact with the Packers organization and if he does decide to return to the field, he hopes it's for the green and gold.

"If we all had a crystal ball right here, we could figure out the future," Finley said. "I would do that any day. But nobody knows. Free agent after this year and like I said, it's an experience I'm going to go through and I just have to learn from it and move forward where ever I'll be, hopefully as a Packer. Thanks to all of the supporters and the people that had my back through the whole thing."

You can catch Finley's episode of Green Bay Nation Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Local 5.
