"It is a big deal and it's a lot of fun to come to and a lot of fun to help out with," said Josh Vanlieshot, Egg Harbor Village Administrator.
The Egg Harbor Pumpkin Patch Festival draws thousands of people every year.
"This is a huge weekend for Egg Harbor," Vanlieshot explained. "Our lodgers, our hotel and motel operators, do very well this weekend. They're probably booked full, if not close to full."
Tourism leaders said this weekend is one of the busiest times of the entire year for door county. Jon Jarosh, with the Door County Visitor Bureau, said about a third of all Door County business comes during the fall season.
"It's just a beautiful time to be up here," said Jarosh. "There's just so much going on, to see and do and taste and experience. So that's one of the reasons that so many folks love coming up to Door County in the fall."
Newlyweds Matt and Elizabeth Swiggum are here from Madison, honeymooning on the Door Peninsula.
"Because I'd never been here before and I heard it was beautiful during the fall," Elizabeth said.
The color change brought one couple up from Chicago.
"We came up for that," said Sharon Gallas. "We got lucky with all the festivals going on this weekend."
"It's that mid-time of fall where it's not hot, not cold, just one of those great last weekends to get out and enjoy northeast Wisconsin."
