Ashwaubenon, Wis. (WFRV)- More than 300 people honored the life of April Janssen, 34, Sunday at Ashwaubenon's Bowling Alley.
Janssen tragically lost her life after falling from a cliff while coming to the aid of an injured teenager in Fonferek Glen on August 12.
The inaugural memorial event was themed to refelct Janssen's favorite holiday: Halloween.
"It was one of her favorite holidays," said Cora Janssen, April's sister. "She loved Halloween."
There was plenty of food, costumes and memories of April to go around. The event included an auction, door prizes and a photo slide show of April. All proceeds from Sunday's event will go to Janssen's three children and their futures.
Since April's passing, Brown County park workers have added additional signage and rocks to warn hikers of any danger.
