Gamblers military appreciation night

The Green Bay Gamblers honored the greatest generation at their game Saturday night.
Ashwaubenon, Wis. (WFRV) - More than 500 service men and women were honored during the Gamblers' game Saturday as part of the organization's 2nd annual Military Apprecition Night.

World War II veteran Jack DeGroot even got to drop the first puck.

"I felt great," DeGroot said. "I felt honored."

The game included a military honor guard and auctioning off the camo jerseys that the Gamblers wore for the game.

"It's a great way for us to give thanks to those people that really gave us the freedoms that we can enjoy today," said Jason Habeck of the Green Bay Gamblers.

A portion of all tickets sold and the auctioned uniforms will benefit Disabled American Veterans.
