The question of how do we protect our state roads and still allow agriculture the access they need to handle their needs has led to a study group providing some recommendations on limits for IOH on state roads.
Hearings have been on going in the state looking at recommendations made by a DOT & DATCAP study committee consisting of representatives from production agriculture, the towns and counties association, farm machinery manufacturers and law enforcement agencies. The group has come up with a series of recommendations to try to protect our state roads during a time of tight budgets, while dealing with the changes in farm equipment now used in modern agriculture. The recommendations receiving the greatest reaction deal with placing weight and size restrictions for farm equipment on state roads
