This picture of the driver was taken off a surveillance camera after the driver pulled into a nearby parking lot following the incident.
A 19-year-old woman was struck while walking through the marked crosswalk just after 10p.m. The accident happened Wednesday evening on College Avenue.
"She will be ok," says Nancy Truesdell of Lawrence University, "She has injuries that require surgery and so she is recovering and will be alright. All of us are very sorry anytime some kind of accident like this happens where injuries result."
This wasn't the first accident to happen at the crosswalk. During the summer of 2012, Lawrence University spent more than $139,000 to have the city install flashing lights and motion detectors.
