The democrat said she has a lot to bring to the table. A former state Department of Commerce secretary and Trek Bicycle Corp. executive said her experience working for the global bicycle company can help boost Wisconsin's economy. She points to her ability to grow Trek's markets overseas. She said she can do the same for businesses here at home.
Burke said her top priorities are job creation and education. Though she did not criticize any of Governor Walker's actions, she simply said we can do better.
"I do feel that we have not been focused on the right priorities," Burke explained. "As focused as we could get and that's on job creation and also on education. We have to make sure that we're moving the state forward and creating that foundation that will be creating jobs in the future."
When asked about Governor Walker's proposal to cut property taxes by $100 million, Burke said she's all for lower taxes, but needs to know more before deciding if it's in the best interest of the people of Wisconsin.
