The nation's second largest brewer is restructuring its salaried workforce to improve efficiency, cut costs and increase speed to market.
In total about 200 people are being let go, 27 of them in Milwaukee.
The company also is eliminating 160 open positions.
"MillerCoors believes these moves will allow more financial flexibility to help the company meet long-term investment requirements in its brands and breweries, while at the same time achieve its operating margin and profitability goals," the statement said.
MillerCoors' second-quarter income dropped 5.8% due to declining sales for its two largest brands, Coors Light and Miller Lite.
