St. John the Evangelist homeless shelter can now house 84 people
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay City Council has approved a request to allow the expansion of a downtown Green Bay homeless shelter.
The expansion would increase St. John the Evangelist homeless shelter's maximum capacity by 20 people, allowing the shelter to hold 84 guests overnight.
The move comes after the shelter generated plenty of controversy last winter when it routinely allowed more guests than permitted to stay overnight.
