Outagamie Storm Sirens Backup System

Outagamie Storm Sirens Backup System

Outagamie County kicks their storm sirens up a notch by adding a backup system with more technology.

Outagamie County has an outdoor siren system that alerts people to severe weather.

But the county wants to backup that system with more technology.

A repeater system could be installed at the Outagamie County Landfill Facility. The system would be purchased for about $30,000. It would backup the 47 sirens that are controlled by the Binghamton Tower near Black Creek.

The county board approved the emergency management's request for $55,000 Tuesday night.

According to officials, it's important that the project gets completed.
