Packers fans advised to leave home early with Leo Frigo closure

This Sunday marks the first Packers home game since the bridge closure.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - This Sunday marks the first Packers home game since the bridge closure.

It is also a gold package game, meaning many of the season ticket holders are coming from the Milwaukee area.

Most of those fans use I-43 to travel to Titletown.

Eight message boards will alert drivers to other routes.

The Department of Transportation will also be using its traffic cameras to monitor the situation.

"We will also have state patrol who will have seven extra officers on patrol Sunday making sure the roadway gets cleared if an incident occurs... They will also have a plane up Sunday being able to relay information to stadium patrol" explains Randy Asman, with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation

The best advice is to leave early and consider taking a different route. Carpooling and using the free game day buses will also help ease congestion on the road.
