Police identify source of blood trail

Police say an intoxicated man who suffered a head injury was the source of the blood that was found on the streets of Appleton on Saturday morning.

 

 

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - Police say an intoxicated man who suffered a head injury was the source of the blood that was found on the streets of Appleton on Saturday morning.

Traces of blood were found in the 300 block of N. Linwood Avenue.

 

According to the Appleton Police Department,  the man told officers that he had become intoxicated and disoriented on Friday night.

 

Police say he tripped and hit his head while trying to make a phone call.

 

The man then tried to access several buildings for help.

 

He blacked out after he was unable to access the buildings and found his way back to his residence after he woke up.

 

Authorities say he did seek medical assistance for a head injury.

 

The incident is resolved. No charged will be pursued.
