Police search for suspicious person after alleged attempted assault

Police are searching for a suspicious person who they say grabbed an 11-year-old girl on Tuesday.
 

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Police are searching for a suspicious person who they say grabbed an 11-year-old girl on Tuesday.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, the man came up to the girl after she got off the city bus at Rosalia Street and Winnebago Avenue in Oshkosh.

That is when the victim says he grabbed and squeezed her shoulder before the 11-year-old hit his arm away and ran for home.

The Oshkosh Police Department searched the area, but did not locate anyone.

Neighbors contacted by police in the area said they did not see the suspect or the incident.

Authorities say the suspect is described as being 5'8"-6' tall, with short dark hair, a mustache and goatee.

The man is approximately 40 to 50 years old and wearing dark sunglasses, a gray shirt and black pants.

Police say the subject may have been Hispanic.
