Pro-life march in Green Bay draws hundreds of supporters

Bishop David Ricken came out to speak along with other pro-life advocates
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV)--Hundreds of people gathered around the Brown County Court House Saturday morning to march for a cause.

The "March for Life" event coincided with marches across the country.
The event promoted the diginity and value of every person, regardless of age.

Bishop David Ricken, along with other pro life advocates, lead the group in prayer, song and finally the actual walk.

"It's simply to bring awarenss to the fact that roe v wade was passed and that we want to respect life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death," said Bishop Ricken.

Celia McKee, a person who attended Saturday's event said, "We know that women have a lot of pressures when they become pregnent. Especially those who weren't expecting to be pregnent. And sometimes they'll make a decision that will end up hurting them for the rest of their lives. And if they do have an abortio, we want to be there saying 'it's okay,' they will heal and there is mercy and that we will help them through that healing process.

During his speech,Bishop Ricken paraphrased Pope Francis -asking the crowd to exercise mercy and forgiveness because all mankind struggles.
