Salvation Army Christmas distribution

The start of a very merry Christmas morning began at Shopko Hall.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The start of a very merry Christmas morning began at Shopko Hall.

The Salvation Army's two-day Christmas assistance distribution got going this morning. Volunteers helped 2,400 families with 5,500 children to select, and pack-up, toys, books, and food for Christmas Day.

"I think there's a lot of families who donate because they maybe have been there," says Nan Pahl, the social service director for the Salvation Army, "who donate because they're able to, and want to, make sure that other families have a great Christmas."

Donors include the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's "Toyr for Tots," and the Brown County Library's "Give a Kid a Book" programs.
