(WFRV) - The American Lung Association just released its annual State of Tobacco report card, and the results for Wisconsin were a mixed bag.

The Badger state scored an 'A' in the smoke-free air category, and a 'B' in cigarette tax, but Wisconsin still got an 'F' in both the smoking cessation coverage, and the tobacco prevention and control program funding.

State health officials say the could help fix the poor grades if they were able to receive more funding.

It's estimated that tobacco costs cause over 7,000 deaths annually in Wisconsin, and it costs the state's economy $3.7 million in healthcare costs every year.
