UPDATE: Person of interest taken into custody after standoff

According to the State Patrol on scene, a person of interest was taken into custody after a standoff on Monday.



 FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - According to the State Patrol on scene, a person of interest was taken into custody after a standoff in Fond du Lac on Monday.


 

Police say it started with a house fire at around 9 a.m. 


 

Fire crews spent the morning battling the flames on North Hickory Street.


 



 

By the time crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed.


Fond du Lac Police say there was no one home at the time.


They also say the home was for sale.


Crews then started looking for a person of interest which led them to the Elms Apartment Complex.


Two shots were fired at the complex.


According to the State Patrol, the person of interest walked out of the complex peacefully Monday afternoon.


The person of interest was then taken into custody.


No injuries have been reported.
