Warm, wet weather works wonders for area pumpkin crop

Local growers say pumpkin season is shaping up nicely
KEWAUNEE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Fall is just a few days away and that means it's pumpkin season.

Pumpkins are prime for picking at Kraynik's Berry Farm in Kewaunee. Todd Kraynik farms eight acres of the fruit. He says last year's dry, hot summer put the crop a few weeks ahead of schedule. But this year, they're right on time.

"This year we didn't have to water the pumpkins," he said. "The rain came at the right time and Mother Nature took care of us this year."

Starting this weekend, you can find Kraynik's pumpkins on 3136 Main Street in Bellevue.
