"I don't really remember much after that (the impact)," Shannon Grant says, "I felt weightless, I remember the falling part, but that is about it."
The Lawrence University sophomore Grant was hit by a car as she tried to cross college avenue on the Lawrence University campus on October 9th.
She was crossing at a lit crosswalk, but the car never seemed to slow.
Shannon says she suffered a broken leg, a cracked pelvis, and some road rash, but counts herself lucky because it could have been worse. She'd like the driver who hit her to come forward soon.
"The experience isn't really mine anymore," she says, "so I was with a friend, and he was there the whole time, and for my mom, and for my whole family and for Appleton and Lawrence to have consolation that this person came forward."
Shannon had to drop out of school because of her injuries but hopes to return to class in January.
Appleton police say a car that appears to be a late model Chevy Impala was the one that hit Grant.
