Rodgers Finds Motivation Year After Year

Despite entering his 10th year in the league, Aaron Rodgers finds plenty of reasons to stay energized and focused.

Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy told us he and his staff changed up a lot of things offensively this off-season to make it easier on newer players coming in. Those adjustments generated homework for his star QB.

“The biggest change was for Aaron but it was the best thing for the group. So he had a little more studying to do this year probably than prior years, I think he's handled that pretty well,” said McCarthy.

Rodgers is entering his 10th year in the League. Some players would get complacent, maybe even bored, but not the Leader of the Pack. There's plenty of reasons to keep this veteran feeling young.

“It's the opportunity to build team chemistry with the guys, it's the challenge of beating up on Dom and has defense and it's the competitive juices that get going from time to time in these OTAs and proving to yourself to young guys who haven't seen you in action other than on TV,” Rodgers said.

These days, his new teammates can also read about him in the gossip columns. Rodgers' relationship with actress Olivia Munn recently went public. #12’s always been a very private person, but he's starting to realize, in this day and age, there's not much you can do.

“There's camera phones that follow your every move and they enjoy the pictures whether you're eating lunch or on you're walking in the street or what not. It's been a natural progression as you start to think about the things that are important and the things you should be worried about and the things that are out of your control. For me as I get older, I love this game, I enjoy my privacy but I realize it comes with the territory when you have success and come what may as far as that goes,” said Rodgers.

After minicamp wraps up this week, the team will have almost a month off before reporting to training camp late July. Rodgers recently defended Johnny Manziel, saying "He's a young guy, doing what young guys do".... but as for Green Bay's rookies:

“Don't do anything stupid. You represent the Green Bay Packers, a very proud organization, our fans, this state, your family,” said Rodgers.
