Packers sign DE Julius Peppers

Green Bay makes free-agent splash

After signing their own over the first few days of free agency, the Green Bay Packers made a significant move on Sunday, coming to terms with former Bears defensive end Julius Peppers

According to multiple reports,  the deal is for 3 years and a max of $30 million, but with front-loaded guarantees it could amount to a florified one-year deal

Peppers is on the back side of his career at age 34, but since entering the league in 2002, he's second in the NFL with 118 1/2 sacks and his 34 forced fumbles rank 5th during that time

The 13-year player is coming off a 7 1/2 sack season, his lowest output since 2007, and 8-time Pro Bowler will be playing in the 3-4 defense for the first time in his career
