Veterans get day off as Packers finish mini-camp

Rodgers, others, get head start on "summer vacation"

The Green Bay Packers finished their mandatory mini-camp on Thursday at Ray Nitschke Field, and the team used the practice to give younger players plenty of reps.

As a result, 15 veterans, including Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Julius Peppers, and Tramon Williams were given the day off.

One player head coach Mike McCarthy felt really improved in Thursday's practice was quarterback Scott Tolzien, who took the first-team reps with Rodgers and Matt Flynn absent.

The Packers will report to training camp on Friday, July 25th, with the first camp practice set for Saturday, July 26th.
