Packers sign Kahlil Bell, release Jerron McMillian

Green Bay announces roster move Tuesday.
The Green Bay Packers announced a roster move on Tuesday, releasing safety Jerron McMillian while signing running back Kahlil Bell.

Bell had spent 2009-2012 with the Chicago Bears.  He had been in training camp with the New York Jets this season before being released on September 1st.  He fills the running back spot left open when Johnathan Franklin was placed on injured reserve last week.

McMillian was a 4th-round draft choice out of Maine in 2012.  He started this season's first two games when Morgan Burnett was out, but saw little to no playing time on defense in recent weeks.

Only four of the Packers 8 2012 draft choices remain on the team.
