GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Voters have approved the Green Bay Area Public School District's $20 million referendum. The final total was 9,786 to 4,250.

It will help pay for upgrades to the heating and cooling systems, along with other maintenance in a half dozen schools.

The Brown County Taxpayers Association came out against the referendum, saying the district needs to commit more money from its operating budget to pay for these repairs.

The measure won't raise property taxes, because the district has existing funding to service the debt.
