The Appleton Christian School in Kimberly has announced it will shut down at the end of the school year. According to school officials, it's due to financial issues, and declining enrollment.
For many, the school's willingness to go the extra mile for their students will be missed. "The school has been a help with accommodations in the classroom, the teachers go out of their way to help kids learn, and that's going to be missed by parents," says Jim Meyer, an administrator with the school. "There's just an overall feeling of sadness more than anything else."
Officials say they plan to hold a celebration at the end of the school year, but a date has not yet been set.
