ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - The head coach of the Packers is one step closer to receiving an honor reserved for a precious few.

Tuesday night, the Ashwaubenon village board voted to change the name of Potts avenue to Mike McCarthy way.

However, to help with the change, the village will ask the Packers to help with the financial burden local businesses are facing because of the name change.

The street also won't be re-named for 8 to 12 months Local business owners say the change would be costly, but the delay will help.

"It would cost us money, knowing the significance of that at this point," Tim Glodowski, owner of Soap Products Co. says, "but we're trusting that they're going to delay the process long enough that we can take care of what we have in stock in our inventory."

Potts avenue connects Oneida street to Ashland avenue.
