MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) The UW-Madison Badger basketball team is spending the night in north Texas, just days away from their appearance in the Final Four against Kentucky. As they prepare to take the steps necessary to secure their first national title since 1941.
Wednesday afternoon, Bo Ryan's teams boarded a bus at the Kohl Center in Madison and headed out to the Dane County Regional Airport, where they boarded a charter flight to bring them to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Along the way, Badger fans lined the street to cheer the team.
When the team goes to battle at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Saturday night, they will not be alone. We have learned the UW has sold more student tickets for the match ups, then any other college represented.
Fan, and pro golfer Andy North says the Badgers can win and fans must be loud.
"Play within themselves, make Kentucky make the mistakes," said North before he headed off to Texas. "Our guys are disciplined in what they do, if we see that maybe with some pump fakes guys will get to the free throw line and remain undefeated. We've also got to be loud and vocal and get our guys on top early and keep them quiet."
The team will get their first look at AT&T Stadium during a shoot around on Thursday.
