Manitowoc, Wisc. (WFRV) Conservation Wardens will be out this weekend at lakes throughout Manitowoc County.

It's all part of a stepped up effort to educate people about invasive species.

The warden team will be handing out literature, reminding people to drain their live wells and remove weeds from their boats before leaving the boat launch area. Citations will be issued as necessary.

Wardens will also be making sure all boaters have life vests and a sober boat operator.

The DNR says if you see a violation, call their hotline number, 1-800-847-9367.
