They honored Wayne Paschke by blasting a small water trench using his ashes.
Wayne Paschke continued the family blasting business in Wisconsin during the 1950s, but passed away several days ago.
Family members say the tribute couldn't have been more fitting.
"He loved the business and loved to keep his hand in it, and liked to know what was going on even though he retired in 1995," His daughter Sarah Paschke Cromell says. "He was still on as a consultant for a while."
Paschke did not ask for the tribute before he died, his family and friends came up with the idea.
