GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Green Bay police are still working to track down their suspect in a fatal east-side shooting. They believe Terry Shepard, 21, shot and killed Steven Sims,32, late Tuesday night.

Shepard has ties to the Kenosha area, but police believe he could still be in Green Bay. That's why they're using a very visible tool to try and track him down. As many as five electronic billboards can now be seen from streets across the Green Bay metro area. It's a tactic police say they don't use very often, but due to the seriousness of this crime, they're hoping displaying his face and information generates some leads as to his whereabouts.

While officials say people should consider Shepard armed and dangerous, police recently spent time in the Stuart street neighborhood where the shooting happened, going door to door, reassuring residents of their safety.

"Any time anyone is wanted for questioning in a serious incident, there's potential for danger," Capt. Todd Thomas explained. "This was a targeted event between two people that knew each other and, again, we hope to resolve it peacefully."

Police did not provide any updates on their search for Shepard, just that they continue to talk with his friends and family.
