GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Local law enforcement officers across northeast Wisconsin are paying tribute to their brothers in arms who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance, and Green Bay Police are showing their appreciation. Officers are standing guard until sunset at the Community Tribute to Law Enforcement right outside in front of the Green Bay Police Department. "We know that every day, that's what we're out there to do is to serve and protect the citizens of this community," says Captain Bill Galvin of the Green Bay Police Department. "And that's what the officers focus on, and what they're dedicated to every minute and every hour that they are out on the streets."

In 2013, 105 police officers lost their lives in the line of duty across the United States.
