Heavy rainfall causes problems for local farmers

FREEDOM, Wis. (WFRV) - The heavy rainfall has caused some problems for local farmers.

They are finding it difficult to get into the fields to plant crops.

Farmers should have started planting their crops about four days ago, according to officials at UW Extension.

Corn, soy beans and winter wheat are some of the crops being affected.

Alfalfa should be about two feet right now, but it's on six inches in some places.

Last year farmers got a late start because of wet fields and now they're dealing with it again.
