APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - The Wisconsin DOT is resuming work on a major interchange that will impact traffic in the Fox Valley.

Crews began closing ramps Friday morning at the Highway 41/47 interchange in Appleton.

The $4.2 million dollar project will raise the Richmond Street bridge over US 41from 15 ft. to 16 ft. 9 in. That will allow the bridge to comply with interstate standards, and in the end will also be safer for cyclists.

Detour routes are in place. The project is expected to wrap up in October. For more on current road construction in the area, click here.
