GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WFRV) A 49-year-old man is behind bars, accused of trafficking heroin from Chicago to Green Bay.

The Brown County Drug Task Force and Green Bay Drug Enforcement Agency began investigating the Green Bay man on April 4th. Officers believed the man was trafficking heroin for the past 8 months.

On April 7th, officers purchased 4.3 grams of heroin from the suspect.

Then, early this morning, the suspect arranged to sell 10 grams of heroin on his return trip from Illinois. Officers attempted to stop the man on Lime Kiln Rd on Green Bay's east side. The suspect took off and led police on a chase covering about 3 miles.

The suspect's car crashed into another vehicle, causing damage.

The suspect then bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot.

A perimeter was set up and the K-9 unit was brought in. The man was found nearby, hiding under an overturned boat.

The K-9 bit the suspect, who was then taken to the hospital for medical clearance.

Officers found 24.5 grams of heroin inside the man's car.

The suspect is now in the Brown County Jail.
