Kohler, Wis(WFRV)- Two people are recovering after an emergency vehicle struck a car at a four-way stop in Sheboygan county.
Police say it happened in the town of Kohler at County Highway PP where a vehicle entering the intersection stopped but then proceeded through and was struck broadside by the ambulance. The ambulance was responding to an emergency call at the time. The driver of the car was cited for not following emergency procedure and waiting for the ambulance to pass. The driver of the ambulance upon review of the security footage that captured the event was cited for driving too fast and being unable to avoid the collision. The driver of the car was airlifted to an area hospital with injuries. Her condition is not known at this time. The driver of the ambulance was also treated for injuries on scene.
