Appleton Airport emergency training

Appleton (WFRV) A simulated event at the Appleton Airport helps emergency response teams in the event of worst case scenarios.

Sunday local responders that includes police, fire and EMS gathered at the Appleton Airport.

They worked with real people who re-enacted scenarios first responders could face.

All of those volunteers were people in the community.

Abe Webber the airport director says it's a necessary event, "This is a great opportunity for the airport and local emergency response professionals to exercise in a simulated environment, practice worst case scenarios so that we're ready in the event that it occurs."

Webber says the airport and local emergency teams have the simulated event every three years.
