GREEN BAY, Wis. - Bay Beach on track to get new trains. With the rapid growth the park has seen in the past decade. Park leaders say it's time to expand one of their favorite rides and Tuesday the Green Bay City Council could approve new trains at the amusement park.
Sarah Bertelsen spends the day at Bay Beach with her son and their favorite ride is the train. Sarah says sometimes she will wait up to 45 minutes to board the five minute ride. The long waits associated with the ride is something staff at the park hopes to alleviate with the new west train.
Organizers say the west side station would be in near the fireplace area and track will run underneath the park's coaster.
The park is hoping to unite the east and west ends of the park with this project.
" Just getting something out there and bringing the people this way and bringing the coaster all together and that it will cut back on the line," Bay Beach Amusement Park Special Facilites Assistant Manager, Brittney Burkart-Lamar said.
This weekend will conclude this season for the amusement park.
