Body found in Sheboygan River

UPDATE: March 21, 2017, 8:40 a.m. 

The medical examiner's office determined that the incident was a suicide and the 73-year-old victim died from drowning.

Sheboygan (WFRV) The Sheboygan Police Department says it recovered the body of a man found in the Sheboygan River.

Sgt. Timothy Patton tells Local 5 a couple walking on the boardwalk saw the man in the water in the 700 block of Riverfront Drive at a around 8:30 Sunday Morning.

Police say the Sheboygan County Dive Team assisted in the recovery of the body around 10 am.

Police say it is a middle aged, white man.  The body has been identified but the name is not being released pending family notification.

Police say the death does not appear to be suspicious and there is no danger to the community.
